Chiropractic Therapy Assistant

Since its release in 2000, the Chiropractic Therapy Assistant (CTA) mission has been to educate and support the chiropractic paraprofessional by providing high quality clinical instruction and resources. Additionally, the CTA Program and CTA State Examination meet the requirements set forth by the TN General Assembly and TN Board of Chiropractic Examiners requiring that all chiropractic assistants performing therapy on patients be licensed and certified by the state.

The Tennessee Board of Chiropractic Examiners requires completion of:

  • an approved 50-hour instructional program,
  • passage of the CTA State Exam, and
  • accrual of 1,200 clinical internship hours to become a state-certified CTA.

CTA TRAINING PROGRAM
In an effort to benefit you as a CA and your doctor’s practice, this structured program has been created in two distance learning formats designed to prepare you for all the requirements of a Chiropractic Therapy Assistant.  Included in both program formats (Online or Print/Online options) are the CTA textbook, video modules and practical workbook which serves as your guide to complete your study.

CTA STATE EXAM
Every chiropractic assistant who seeks to perform therapy in Tennessee must meet educational criteria and pass the state examination prior to performing CTA duties.  Program applicants are eligible to apply for the CTA State Exam upon completion of educational components.
