NASHVILLE, TN – Chiropractic practices across Tennessee are joining with the Tennessee Chiropractic Association (TCA) in helping their communities achieve better health through a statewide walking campaign duly titled, Step Forward With Chiropractic. The program is being launched in celebration of National Correct Posture Month this May.
For this campaign, TCA members across the state are encouraging members of their communities to commit to a walking routine for four weeks, May 6-31, and count their steps forward to better health!
In its first observance, the TCA’s Step Forward With Chiropractic campaign was successful in helping participants gain new motivation to be active and focus on their health as they logged over 18.4 million steps in one month!
“We are excited to once again sponsor Step Forward with Chiropractic to provide new opportunities for doctors to share the benefits of chiropractic throughout their community,” said Tiffany Stevens, TCA Executive Director. “By promoting walking for an active lifestyle and providing ways to give back to others, this campaign will not only improve the overall health of Tennesseans, but make a global impact.”
The TCA is also sponsoring a statewide Sneaker Drive in cooperation with Rippl, a TN nonprofit. During the month of May, TCA member practices will collect donations of gently worn sneakers that will in turn provide inventory for family businesses in developing countries to fight global poverty.
Creativity is encouraged, and TCA members are putting their own spin on the campaign to appeal to their community offering a unique experience for their participants. From hosting “Walk with Doc” dates at local greenways to hiking the Appalachian Trail (virtually, that is), practices and patients are having a little fun with the campaign and getting healthier to boot.
Chiropractors are a great fit for promoting better health through the many benefits of walking, since they care for patients of all ages, with a variety of health conditions. They also counsel patients on diet, nutrition, exercise, healthy habits, and occupational and lifestyle modification.
With Tennessee ranked in the bottom 10 states for physical inactivity as reported by the United Health Foundation’s 2018 America’s Health Rankings, TCA members are dedicated to making a difference through this statewide effort helping their communities step forward and reap the benefits!
